In developing the new Taxonomy and the structure of new Configuration Management, the project team has been careful not to redefine existing words and phrases in order to minimize the confusion inherent in the development of new operational models.

However, sometimes it is necessary to create or modify definitions to create the level of precision necessary for development of new technologies and practices.
