Definition:

A physical system, structure or component that is part of the facility.


SSCs are simply the systems, structures and components, the physical objects, that comprise the nuclear power production facility.

The term "SSC" refers to the actual equipment and materials that make up the plant. It does not refer to the characteristics of the equipment and materials, but only to the physical items themselves.
